Today in History class, I studied about Jigme Namgyal.
Jigme Namgyal was a notable figure in Bhutanese history, often remembered for his leadership and contributions to the country's development. As a statesman, he played an important role in strengthening Bhutan's independence and modernizing its governance. His legacy is one of resilience, vision, and dedication to his nation.
Hinduism – One of the oldest religions, mainly followed in India and Nepal. It believes in many gods and goddesses, karma (actions), and reincarnation (rebirth).
Buddhism – Founded by Siddhartha Gautama (Buddha) in India. It teaches the path to enlightenment through meditation, compassion, and understanding the nature of suffering.
Christianity – Based on the teachings of Jesus Christ. Christians believe in one God and follow the Bible. Christianity is the largest religion in the world.
Islam – Followers are called Muslims. Islam teaches belief in one God (Allah) and follows the teachings of the Quran. It emphasizes prayer, charity, fasting, and pilgrimage.
Judaism – One of the oldest monotheistic religions. Jews follow the teachings of the Torah and believe in one God who made a covenant with their ancestors.
“Guru Rinpoche” (also known as Padmasambhava) is one of the most revered figures in Tibetan Buddhism. The name “Guru Rinpoche” means “Precious Teacher.
